Petra Lea

On May 14, 2012 by Midge

As an artist I take my starting point from texture and colour. I am interested in the integration of the two and the necessary processes to reach the end point and at times the process becomes more important than the finished product. Mark making reveals the hidden complexity of a piece and envelops the work in its entirety.

My influences are varied and include Japanese culture, abstraction, Victoriana and the darker side of life.

I use a range of materials in my work including oils, acrylics, household paint, collage, ash, nails and much more.
