I aim to create a fluidity in my work that will lead the eye on a journey of delight into another realm. My soul speaks through colour, texture and movement. My goal is to offer joy to the viewer.

I work in mosaic – one of the oldest art forms, traditionally used to create religious images in Byzantine art to evoke a sense of awe and wonder. Reflective glass from Ravenna and Viennese smalti, the materials I use for my work, have the ability to manipulate the light to capture the attention of the viewer in mesmerizing and hypnotic contemplation.

I have a passion to create and a love of symbolism – to be able to create without words. Mosaic is a labour of love – breaking up the materials and piecing them together can be exasperating, but when it all comes together to reveal the image I had in my mind it is immensely satisfying.

I believe that art should reach people in all walks of life, on the street, in our places of work, in our everyday lives, to change and enhance our environment. Through my school and community art projects I aim to engage and inspire others to find their inner artist.
