Her main aim is to share, encourage, inspire and promote art for everyone to enjoy!

Whilst much of her own work is inspired by the landscape and the changing seasons,  she also has a great love of the outdoors, nature, the human form and wildlife. Capturing and abstracting colour to interpret an atmosphere or subject matter combined with texture and pattern is the real passion behind each of her paintings. She finds great inspiration exploring and experimenting with various art & crafts resulting in a mixed selection of work including paintings, handmade art and junk journals.

Midge exhibits and sells her work locally for which she has attained an number of awards including most recently the Visitors Choice Award at the Castle Park Annual Open and the Mayors Choice Award at the Cheshire Open Studios Annual Exhibition 2016 and has sold art to buyers in Ireland & UK. She is also a proactive supporter & volunteer to the voluntary arts sector in Cheshire.

In addition to working on her own portfolio, fulfilling commissions & exhibiting she also teaches various art workshops throughout Cheshire either as group sessions or on a one-to-one basis (i.e. private tuition from GCSE level and above).

Her teaching methods are primarily  focused on developing fundamental skills and techniques  in drawing, painting or crafting using and combining a wide range of media to facilitate an individuals development of their own artistic style.  Midge provides workshops that gives others an opportunity to learn and explore new artistic methods, mediums and techniques. Her students progress to a level where they exhibit and sell their own work.

Core subjects she teaches include acrylics & mixed media & other watermedia, pastels, oil painting, encaustic, life drawing, landscape painting, portraiture, monoprinting, calligraphy and mixed-media art journalling.

Occasionally she organises small group art trips/breaks or holidays, painting & sketching trips and is a keen participant in community based art projects providing demonstrations and workshops that adapt and combine various art forms to schools & local community art groups.
