John Eastwood, Lords Bridge, Visitor’s Choice Award Winner 2014

The early 19th Century herringbone stone bridge that spans the River Churnet near to Dimmings Dale, Oakamoor in North Staffordshire is distinct and beautiful. Time and nature have unified the structure with the surrounding landscape, giving it an idyllic and fairytale-like quality. Lord’s Bridge has a commanding sense of presence and an effortless tranquillity as it straddles the flowing water that winds its way through the Churnet Valley.
