Alison Stafford

Growing up in Constable country surrounded by stunning scenery and animals I loved to draw and paint from an early age, inspired by my parents who were both artistic at heart.

I studied Fashion and Textiles at Manchester and after obtaining a BA Hons in that field, pursued a career in Fashion design for the next 25 years.

It is with a great sense of colour and love of pattern, and nature in all it’s guises that I began painting seriously.

I take on commission work, but love to paint portraits of animals and people that capture a character.

I specialise in equine portraits and am an active member of the Association of Animal Artists, and the
?Society of Equine Artists

My mediums of choice are acrylics and oils.

?Acrylic allows me to experiment with colour and texture, whilst I like to use oil for a more classical approach to portrait painting.
